To support and recognise promising young scientists, we’re offering three exclusive flash presentation slots at the 2025 Yakult Science Study Day. Winners will have 8 minutes to share their study results, followed by 2 minutes Q&A.

Application Criteria

The ECR competition is open to current UK & Ireland based:

Early career researchers (i.e. currently undertaking or having completed a postgraduate research degree (e.g. PhD, MPhil, MRes, MSc) within the past 5 years).
Must have contributed significantly to a study or review related to the gut microbiome and be able to present results in-person at the Yakult Science Study Day in London (12th November 2025).
Research may involve in vitro, animal or human studies, as well as reviews.
Submissions should feature original research or reviews that are either unpublished or have been published recently (i.e. in 2024 or 2025).
