Yakult Science Study Day 2025

On 12^th November 2025, we hosted a one-day CPD endorsed conference exploring the latest research on the gut microbiome at the British Library in London. The event featured presentations from world-leading experts, including Professor John Cryan, Professor Siobhain O’Mahony, Professor Christopher Stewart and Nick Trott RD. Presentations covered: the gut-brain axis, the infant microbiome, women’s health, probiotics and coeliac disease. The programme also featured a panel discussion with well-recognised healthcare professionals, including Dr Idz, Dr Emily Prpa, Dr Ally Jaffee, Priya Tew RD and Jordan Haworth discussing how they are combatting science misinformation online. Ticket sales raised £6,270 for the charity, Guts UK.

IBS Webinar

In this webinar, Kirsten Jackson RD (@the.ibsdietitian) addresses the latest scientific research to support IBS management and optimise patient outcomes. The focus is on delivering holistic practical strategies that seamlessly integrate within existing clinical limitations, ensuring effective and achievable interventions.

Longevity Symposium 2025

On 7th May 2025, we hosted a longevity symposium in London. Professor Claire Steves and Dr Jenna Macciochi shared the latest scientific evidence on the gut microbiome and longevity. They discussed physical, mental, and environmental factors which support long-term health, to help you and your patients thrive now and in the years ahead. Ticket sales raised £700 for the charity, Royal Voluntary Service.

11th International Yakult Symposium

The 2024 International Yakult Symposium was held at the Eye Filmmuseum in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

At the conference, world-leading experts shared the latest gut microbiome research on topics such as the gut-brain axis, fermented foods, women’s health and infant development.

Gut-Brain Axis Webinar

In this webinar, Dr Elizabeth Schneider, postdoctoral researcher from Professor John Cryan’s lab at APC Microbiome, outlines known communication pathways from the gut to the brain. The key studies that demonstrate the effects of diet on gut-brain signalling are presented whilst sharing the current gaps of knowledge within the field. Dietary and lifestyle habits that target the gut microbiota to consequently improve brain health are also discussed.

Women's Health Symposium 2024

On 1st May 2024, we hosted an evening women’s health symposium at FORA, London. The event raised money for the women’s health charity, Sister Circle. Together we raised £1,000 for this excellent cause. Over the course of the evening, we delved into the fascinating realm of the female gut microbiome with insightful presentations from Dr. Nicky Keay and Ro Huntriss RD. They uncovered the intricate interplay between female sex hormones and gut health, as well as the pivotal role of diet and lifestyle factors in reproductive health.

Yakult Science Study Day 2023

On the 2nd November 2023, we teamed up with MyNutriWeb to develop a full day symposium featuring a variety of experts to help you ‘gut to grips’ with the latest research on the gut microbiota. This session was designed for healthcare professionals with an interest in the gut microbiome – in particular, dietitians, nutritionists, GPs, and students. Presentations covered: the gut microbiota & personalised nutrition⁣, menopause & the gut microbiome⁣, the gut-brain axis & exploring the link between food & mood/stress/anxiety⁣, the science of probiotics⁣, the gut-skin axis⁣, advances in the science of the gut microbiome⁣, and practical take-home advice to make sense of the current research base⁣.
